Repertoire and performance assignments will be based on the individual progress of the student.  When not performing in Performance Lab, students are expected to attentively study the work of instructor and performer, applying the public demonstration to their own work.

    Nursing Process I provides an introduction to curricular concepts, role responsibilities, development of fundamental knowledge and nursing skills, as well as the history and evolution of the nursing profession. The nursing process is introduced as the method for clinical decision making. Opportunities will be provided for the student to provide patient centered care for the promotion, maintenance and restoration of health in the clinical and laboratory settings while emphasizing principles of quality and safety, communication, and professionalism. Morning, afternoon, and/or evening hours may be scheduled for clinical experience. A medication calculation test will be given.     NUR 1216 is the accelerated summer version of NUR 1208 Nursing Process II .  This course is available only to students in the LPN to RN completion track. The focus of this course is on clinical decision making and the provision of patient centered care in selected medical/surgical settings with adult patients. Curricular concepts from previous courses continue to be built upon and a unit focusing on gerontological nursing is included in this course. Content and clinical experiences will emphasize patient centered care, the role of the nurse in the health care team, communication skills(collaborating with health care team, team building, verbal and non-verbal), and quality and safety. Clinical experiences are scheduled involving morning, afternoon, evening, or weekend hours in an acute care setting focusing on course concepts.
