Student Accounts Receivable

Student accounts receivable balances may arise due to several factors:

  • Rescinded Financial Aid or Scholarships: If financial aid or scholarships are revoked during the semester, outstanding balances can accumulate.
  • Returned Insufficient Checks: When payments made by check are insufficient, balances remain unpaid.
  • Terminated Nelnet Business Solutions Agreements: Agreements with Nelnet Business Solutions that are terminated contribute to outstanding balances.

Payment Requirements and Options:

  • Students must settle all required tuition, fees, books, and related charges before the “Drop for non-payment” date for the enrolled semester.
  • If a student doesn’t qualify for financial aid and cannot pay the balance in full at registration, they can receive guidance from a student financial staff member.
  • Acceptable payment methods include cash, check, credit card, and online payment plans through Nelnet Business Solutions.

Impact of Outstanding Balances:

  • Unpaid balances hinder future enrollment and result in account holds, preventing the issuance of official transcripts.
