Artificial Intelligence Writing Tools

What are artificial intelligence (AI) writing tools?  AI writing tools are defined as:

• Software powered by computer systems designed to create text based on information that the user enters

Using AI writing tools to write, develop, create, inspire, or assist in any type of course work is not permitted.  Using these tools is considered plagiarism unless an instructor has given explicit instructions to do so.  Students are responsible for knowing each instructor’s policy regarding AI in the classroom.  While AI writing tools can be beneficial in certain fields of study, this technology is new and prone to errors.  Information generated using AI writing tools should still be fact-checked.
