National Park College complies with Arkansas’ Anti-Hazing Law (§6-5-203) and the federal Stop Campus Hazing Act (Public Law No: 118-173). Hazing is defined as follows:
“Any mental or physical requirement, request, or obligation placed upon any person that could intentionally or unintentionally cause discomfort, pain, fright, disgrace, injury or which is personally degrading for the purpose of initiation into, admission into, affiliation with, or as a condition of continued membership in, a group or organization.”
Violations of NPC’s anti-hazing policy will result in severe academic penalties, in addition to punishment imposed by the court, if convicted. Penalties prescribed by Arkansas Law are listed below:
(a) The offense of hazing is a Class B misdemeanor
(b) Upon conviction of any student of the offense of hazing, he or she shall, in addition to any punishment imposed by the court, be expelled from the school, college, university, or other educational institution he or she is attending.
Incidents of suspected hazing can be reported to Campus Security (501-760-4293), the office of Campus Safety (501-760-4161), or the Dean of Students (501-760-4229).
