PNP 1447 - Medical Surgical Nursing II 7 Credits This course covers common conditions of illness including nursing care and management of patients in acute, sub-acute or convalescent stages of illness of short and long term duration, nutrition and treatment modalities. It builds on concepts from PNP 1351Medical Surgical Nursing I and PNP 1342 Pharmacology I. The progress of Pharmacology content will be integrated throughout the course in relation to the effects that medications have on body systems and disease process. Including the purpose, properties, dose, action, and reactions commonly associated with specific drugs as well as nursing assessment and patient education needs.
Prerequisites: PNP 1307 Basic Concepts Of Nursing , PNP 1331 Gerontological Nursing I , PNP 1342 Pharmacology I , PNP 1351 Medical Surgical Nursing I , and PNP 1364 Clinical And Clinical Research I Corequisite: PNP 1456 Clinical & Clinical Research II
