MATH 1053 - Applied Math 3 Credits
Review of basic arithmetic calculations, decimals, percentages, solving simple equations in one variable; discussion of discounts, simple and compound interest, credit cards, home mortgages, taxes; life, fire and auto insurance; payrolls, averages, graphs, and other consumer- and business-related computations.
Prerequisites: ACT math score of 18 or equivalent score on COMPASS Pre-Algebra or Algebra tests, or completion of LAD 9014 with a grade of “C” or better.
