PHOT 1253 - Studio Photography 3 Credits
This class is designed for those who wish to gain proficiency in studio photography techniques or enter the field of professional photography. The course will provide training in film and digital based camera functions for large format, medium format, and 35mm equipment along with floodlights and strobe lights in the studio environment. The fundamentals of portraiture, product photography, camera manipulation and lighting will be explored. Students will learn to develop large and medium format black-and-white film and make prints in the darkroom that are of commercial quality for presentation to a client. The fundamentals of digital photo filing, manipulation and printing will also be covered. The material produced by the student will comprise a portfolio, which will be submitted for grading at the end of the course.
Prerequisites: PHOT 1113 - Intermediate Photography .
