CIS 2223 - Disaster Recovery Planning 3 Credits This course will teach the process to plan and write a disaster recovery plan. It will include a business impact analysis, review of case studies and sample recovery plans. Students will create a comprehensive disaster recovery plan as their final project.
Course Availability: Offered Spring Semester Only
Prerequisite: CIS 1813 - Computer Law & Ethics and CIS 2203 Ethical Hacking & Systems Defense
Course Level Objectives Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
1. Analyze case scenarios in order to identify strengths and weaknesses of plans and policies (PLO 3, 4, 5)
2. Demonstrate critical thinking in determining the best ways to produce an effective recovery plan (PLO 3, 4)
3. Create and present a comprehensive disaster recovery plan using effective oral and written communication (PLO 1, 5, 6, 7)
