BUS 2043 - Sports Marketing

3 Credits
This course will introduce students to the fundamentals of sports marketing. The class will focus primarily on the use of sports in the marketing of products, services, and corporations, as well as the application of marketing theories and practices within the sports industry.

Course Level Objectives
1.Identify the marketing, sports industry, and business terms commonplace in the field of sports marketing. (GEO 2, 3)
2.Discuss the concepts and theories that apply to sports marketing practice. (GEO 2, 3)
3.Compare and contrast various types of sports relationships, including partnerships, sponsorships, and licensing agreements. (GEO 2, 3)
4.Create an effective marketing plan for the promotion of a sports entity that demonstrates mastery of course terminology and application of sports marketing concepts. (GEO 2, 3)
5.Communicate effectively in all assigned content, both in written and graphic form. (GEO 1, 3)
