CIS 2223 - Disaster Recovery Planning 3 Credits This course will teach the process to plan and write a disaster recovery plan. It will include a business impact analysis, review of case studies and sample recovery plans. Students will create a comprehensive disaster recovery plan as their final project.
Course Availability: Offered Spring Semester Only
Prerequisite: CIS 1813 - Computer Law & Ethics and CIS 2203 Ethical Hacking & Systems Defense
Course Level Objectives Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Analyze case scenarios in order to identify strengths and weaknesses of plans and policies (PLO 3, 4, 5)
- Demonstrate critical thinking in determining the best ways to produce an effective recovery plan (PLO 3, 4)
- Create and present a comprehensive disaster recovery plan using effective oral and written communication (PLO 1, 5, 6, 7)
