CIS 2183 - Windows Client OS 3 Credits This course covers the administration and configuring of the current Windows operating system. Students will learn the following: 1) Windows Installation and post installation tasks; 2) Windows deployment installations over networks; 3) Configure Group Policy; 4) Configure Network connectivity; 5) File and Storage Management; 6) System Recovery and Monitoring of Windows; 7) Application Management.
Course Availability: Offered Spring Semester Only
Prerequisite: CIS 1063 Intro to Networking & Cyber Security with a grade of “C” or better, or instructor permission
Course Level Objectives Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- IIdentify, install, and configure current operating system. (PLO 1, 2, 4)
- Create an image of installation and deploy that image across a network. (PLO 1, 2, 4)
- Install, update, or troubleshoot a driver installation. (PLO 1, 2, 3, 4)
- Create, manage, and implement disk volumes and partitions. (PLO 1, 2, 4)
- Configure IP addresses for client operating systems. (PLO 1, 2, 4)
- Implement, configure, and troubleshoot wired and wireless networks. (PLO 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7)
- Demonstrate numerous system monitoring and performance tasks. (PLO 1, 2, 3, 4)
- Implement and configure Windows backup and restore operations. (PLO 1, 2, 3, 4)
