MAR 1706 - Service and Routine Maintenance I

6 Credits
This course covers the service and maintenance of marine products, such as, oil changes, water pump service, off season storage, decommissioning, cleaning and interior care. Safety is emphasized.

Course Level Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Replace timing belt on portable and mid-range engines to industry standards. (PLO 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
  2. Change oil and filter on portable and mid-range engines to industry standards. (PLO 3, 4, 5)
  3. Service fuel systems on portable and mid-range engines to industry standards. (PLO 3, 4, 5)
  4. Inspect and replace impeller as needed on portable and mid-range engines using industry standards. (PLO 3, 4, 5)
  5. Change lower unit oil on various engines. (PLO 3, 4, 5)
