BUS 2403 - Social Media Marketing

3 Credits
Effective approaches to developing and executing successful social media marketing strategies for both current and future landscapes. This includes techniques, strategies, and platforms for promoting individuals and organizations, as well as tools for analyzing campaign performance and managing ongoing social media efforts.

Course Level Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Explain foundational concepts, strategies, and terminology in social media marketing and digital branding. (GEO 3)
  2. Identify major social media platforms and analyze their unique audiences, features, and marketing opportunities. (GEO 3) 
  3. Demonstrate the ability to create engaging content tailored to specific platforms and target audiences. (GEO 3)
  4. Apply basic social media analytics and metrics to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of marketing campaigns. (GEO 3)
  5. Examine ethical, legal, and professional considerations in social media marketing, including privacy and consent, copyright, and transparency. (GEO 3)
  6. Develop a basic social media marketing plan, integrating content strategy, platform selection, scheduling, and performance assessment. (GEO 3)
