WLD 1324 - GMAW (MIG Welding) II

MIG II Welding is designed to advance students’ skills in MIG and Flux Cored (Dual Shield) welding for commercial and industrial applications. This course builds on the principles introduced in MIG I, with an emphasis on advanced weld joint preparation, out-of-position welding, and increased weld quality and consistency. Students will further develop their skills in equipment setup, parameter adjustment, and troubleshooting, while applying proper safety practices and equipment maintenance. Instruction includes more complex welding test positions and industry-based projects that reflect real-world conditions. Upon completion, students will be better prepared for higher-level welding tasks and increased employment opportunities in the welding industry. Curriculum for this course is based on and aligned with American Welding Society standards.

Prerequisite: WLD 1224 WLD 1224 - GMAW (MIG Welding) I

Demonstrate proper material handling techniques & tool check-in and turn-in procedures. (PLO 1, 2, 3, 4)
Demonstrate proper GMAW/FCAW welding techniques in all positions on both steel & aluminum. (PLO 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
Demonstrate professional workplace behaviors and communication skills required for employment. (PLO 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
