PHMT 1103 - Introduction to Pharmacy3 Credits
This course serves as an introduction to the profession of pharmacy. This course will cover an overview of the following topics: history, federal law, practice settings, roles of pharmacy personnel, professional standards and ethics, medication filling process, general overview of body systems, drug classifications, dosage forms, routes of medication administration, agencies and associations, medication errors and safety, inventory, billing and reimbursement, and pharmaceutical research.
Prerequisites: Acceptance into the Pharmacy Technology Program or Program Director Approval.
