PHMT 1104 - Pharmacology I4 Credits The course serves as an introduced to the fundamentals and concepts of pharmacology. Body structure and function are incorporated as related to respective topics. Medications, drug classifications, and interactions with selected diseases are studied using body systems as the framework. Emphasis is on the information that allows the student to think critically and make appropriate decisions in their role of a Pharmacy Technician to assist the Pharmacist in avoiding errors and providing quality health care. Drugs that treat/affect the following body systems will be covered in this Part I of the 2-Part course: nervous system, musculoskeletal system, ophthalmic and otic, and cardiovascular.
Prerequisites: Acceptance into the Pharmacy Tech program or Program Director Approval.
