PHMT 2014 - Clinical Externship4 Credits Students practice skills developed in the didactic and laboratory phases of their training in an environment that provides Community/Retail pharmacy services and an environment that provides Institutional/Hospital pharmacy services. The student will engage in the full capacity of technician duties that might be performed by a pharmacy technician at the particular site. The student will be evaluated by the preceptor at each site. Preceptor, and pharmacy staff, will engage students in the clinical environment and provide hands on experiences with the necessary skills of a pharmacy technician. Areas of competency include: Storage & Control, Documentation, Inventory & Billing, Community Pharmacy Practice/Institutional Pharmacy Practice, Technology, Communication, Recordkeeping & HIPAA, and Error Prevention & Quality Control. The student will complete 180 total hours between the two (2) practice sites. Lab Fee. Testing Fee.
Prerequisites: Program Director Approval.
