Associate of Arts

The Associate of Arts Degree (A.A.) gives students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university the opportunity to complete the first two years of course work leading to a baccalaureate degree.
 

College Required Courses


First-time, full-time students must complete both courses:

English - 9 Credit Hours Total


All three courses must be taken:

Mathematics - 3 Credit Hours Total


Select one of the following or any course higher than College Algebra:

Life Science - 4 Credit Hours Total


Select one of the following or Any Life Science Course Higher than General Biology:

Fine Arts/Humanities - Section II - 3 Credit Hours Total


Select one of the following:

Fine Arts/Humanities Directed Elective - 3 Credit Hours Total


Select one from each Fine Arts/Humanities Section I and Section II not previously chosen.

Social Sciences - Section I - 3 Credit Hours Total


Select one of the following:

Social Sciences - Section II - 3 Credit Hours Total


Select one of the following:

Social Sciences Directed Elective - 3 Credit Hours Total


Select one from either Social Sciences Section I, or Section II, or Section III not previously chosen

General Education Directed Electives - 9 Credit Hours Total


Complete any other nine hours as long as the courses are within the general education categories: English/Communication, Mathematics, Lab Sciences, Fine Arts/Humanities, and Social Sciences

Regular Elective - 5 Credit Hours Total


Select electives that would normally be taken as part of an Arkansas state supported university baccalaureate degree. Check the Arkansas College Transfer System available on line at acts.adhe.edu or speak with an advisor at the senior institution you plan to attend to be certain the courses will transfer.

Physical Education - 2 Credit Hours Total


Or two other 1 credit PE courses.

60 Credit Hours Total
