Associate of Arts emphasis in Music

This suggested curriculum is designed for persons who plan to obtain an Associate of Arts Degree at National Park Community College (NPCC) and transfer to Henderson State University (HSU) to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree. Students should be aware that prerequisite courses and/or developmental courses may need to be taken in addition to this suggested plan of study. This suggested plan is for informational purposes only and is based on recommendations from HSU faculty/staff. The student is responsible for meeting with an advisor and submitting an official degree plan to insure a successful transfer process. The Associate of Arts degree requires a minimum of 61 transferable hours. The Bachelor of Arts degree requires a minimum of 124 hours.

Since the choice in the core curriculum may vary in the amounts of credits earned, students should work with the program advisor in selecting the most appropriate electives. Other electives may be available contingent upon the instrument studied. Students should choose electives accepted by the institution to which they plan to transfer. AA candidates need at least 18 elective credits to satisfy the required 61 hours for this degree plan.
