The certificate program in Homeland Security/Emergency Management is designed to prepare students interested in a career in emergency management with the fundamentals of the profession while also providing emergency management professionals with needed credentials and current practices. The certificate of proficiency aims to equip students with an understanding of the essential principles of homeland security, incident command, and emergency management. Special emphasis is placed upon learning the principles of disaster mitigation and response as set forth by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in the National Response Framework (NRF).

This eighteen (18) credit-hour course of study is provided online and taught by an emergency management professional.
