Phlebotomy Technical Certificate

Due to the increase in the number and complexity of laboratory tests and the need to increase the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of detection, diagnosis, and treatment of disease, phlebotomy has become a specialized area of practice. Graduates from this certificate program will be eligible to sit for national certifying exams.

English/Communications - Section II - 3 Credit Hours Total

Select one of the following:

ENG 1123 - English Composition II 3 Credits
SPCH 1103 - Fundamentals Of Public Speaking 3 Credits

Mathematics - 2 Credit Hours Total

This course or any higher level Math course is required

General Elective - 3 Credit Hours Total

Health Science - 13 Credit Hours Total

All of the following are required:

Phlebotomy Major Courses - 8 Credit Hours Total

All of the following are required:

MLT 2002 - Intro. To Medical Lab. Technology 2 Credits
MLT 2006 - Clinical Applications In Phlebotomy 6 Credits

32 Credit Hours Total

Courses prerequisite to another class require a minimum grade of “C” in order to advance to the next course.
