CIS 1043 - Computer Science II 3 Credits A continuation of Computer Science I (CIS 1033). This course continues by introducing more advanced programming topics including data structures, algorithms, design analysis, program logic and especially object oriented programming.
Prerequisite: CIS 1033 - Computer Science I
Corequisite: CIS 1041 Computer Science II Lab
Course Level Objectives Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Illustrate the use of pointers in an application (PLO 1,2).
- Describe the need and application of structured data (PLO 1,2).
- Design and use an object in an application (PLO 1,2).
- Describe, produce and apply class methods and properties (PLO 1,2).
- Explain advanced class concepts, polymorphism, inheritance, and encapsulation (PLO 1,2).
- Illustrate the correct use of exceptions (PLO 1,2).
- Define basic search and sort algorithms (PLO 1,2).
