ENG 1123 - English Composition II* 3 Credits Continuation of ENG 1113 - English Composition I* . Study of good writing and rhetorical style. Students develop research skills through writing a formal, documented paper.
Prerequisite: ENG 1113 - English Composition I* with a grade of “C” or better.
Course Level Objectives Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Create rhetorically appropriate work that demonstrates an understanding of purpose, audience, context, and genre conventions. (1, 2, 3)
- Identify the standards of written English, especially in regard to grammar, mechanics, and usage. (3)
- Collaborate effectively with peers to achieve stated outcomes. (1, 4)
- Read, analyze, and interpret diverse literary works. (2, 3)
- Integrate original ideas with those of others. (2, 3)
- Demonstrate research skills and correct use of citation methods through the writing of a formal research paper. (1, 2, 3)
