AST 2113 - Automotive Internship

3 Credits

Automotive Service Technology students will receive on-the-job training associated with the automotive area to reinforce classroom instruction. Supervision will be provided by the classroom instructor in conjunction with the internship site personnel.

Prerequisite: Technical Certificate in Automotive Service Technology or completion of the 2 Year High School Program or Instructor Approval

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Demonstrate proper work ethics and procedures (PLO 4, 5, 6)
Select relative service information (PLO 1, 2, 3)
Identify failed vehicle system components (PLO 1, 2, 3)
Apply proper automotive service repair methods (PLO 1, 2, 3, 5, 6)
Perform appropriate and ethical customer service techniques (PLO 2, 4, 5, 6)
Practice industry standard safety procedures (PLO 3, 5, 6)
Diagnose customer complaints and related concerns (PLO 1, 2, 3, 5)
