OREC 2122 - Bicycle Mechanics II

This course provides a more in-depth study of bike components, including steering, suspension, braking, wheels, and gear systems.

Prerequisite: OREC 1121 Bicycle Mechanics I or equivalent experience is required.

Course Level Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Analyze bicycle systems and components related to advanced mechanics, performance optimization, and compatibility issues. (GEO 3)
Demonstrate advanced maintenance and repair techniques, including wheel truing, drivetrain overhaul, and hydraulic brake servicing. (GEO 3)
Perform complex troubleshooting and diagnostics for mechanical and electronic shifting systems, suspension components, and integrated drive systems. (GEO 3)
Apply specialized tools and measurement techniques to ensure precision adjustments and repairs. (GEO 3)
