AST 1903 - Automotive AC/Heat3 Credits Theory of refrigeration, the refrigeration cycle, and the basic components of a typical automotive refrigeration system will be introduced. The function of compressors, lines, expansion valves, orifice tubes, receiver dryers, condensers, evaporators, and the air distribution system will be covered. Service and maintenance procedures, basic shop safety, environmental concerns, and recycling of refrigerant are included.
Corequisite: AST 1406 Automotive Lab IV or AST 2113 Automotive Internship
