NUR 1108 - Nursing Process I 8 Credits Nursing Process I provides an introduction to curricular concepts, role responsibilities, development of fundamental knowledge and nursing skills, as well as the history and evolution of the nursing profession. The nursing process is introduced as the method for clinical decision making. Opportunities will be provided for the student to provide patient centered care for the promotion, maintenance and restoration of health in the clinical and laboratory settings while emphasizing principles of quality and safety, communication, and professionalism. Morning, afternoon, and/or evening hours may be scheduled for clinical experience. A medication calculation test will be given. Each student will be required to achieve 90% on the calculation test to pass the course.
Prerequisite: BIOL 2224 - Anatomy And Physiology I* , CHEM 1104 Chemistry For Non-Majors I* , both passed with a grade of “C” or better Corequisite: BIOL 2234 - Anatomy And Physiology II* , MATH 1123 College Algebra* , NUR 1001 Critical Thinking Applications I
