RESP 1104 - Cardiopulmonary Anatomy and Physiology 4 Credits This course provides an in-depth study of coronary and pulmonary anatomy and physiology with focus on the adult patient. Emphasis is on the heart-lung relationship within the context of ventilation, gas exchange physiology, acid-base regulation, exercise, and cardiopulmonary compensatory mechanisms. Additional content explores the cardiovascular and renal systems as they relate to cardiopulmonary function.
Prerequisite: Acceptance into the NPC Respiratory Care Program, BIOL 2224 - Anatomy And Physiology I* , BIOL 2234 - Anatomy And Physiology II* , CHEM 1104 - Chemistry For Non-Majors I* , BIOL 2244 - Microbiology* , MATH 1123 - College Algebra* .
