National Park College (NPC) students who have completed an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Hospitality & Tourism Administration degree may transfer into the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree program at the University of Arkansas at Ft. Smith (UAFS).  This BAS degree provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to either assume management and leadership roles in business and industry or to enhance current employment. The BAS degree is not specific to any NPC program area or concentration.

This degree requires a total of 120 semester credit hours, including at least 45 upper-level credit hours completed at UAFS.  NPC students may transfer 75 hours of lower-level courses to UAFS. Prerequisite courses and/or developmental courses may also need to be taken in addition to the degree course requirements shown.

UAFS Admissions Requirements
Students must have a 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) cumulative GPA on all previous coursework to be eligible for admission to UAFS.

UAFS recognizes 49 of 60 NPC credit hours from this Associate of Applied Science degree.

UAFS will also accept 26 additional hours from courses listed below taken at NPC for a maximum of 75 transferable hours. These courses may also be taken at UAFS (campus or online, if available).

Option 1


You completed PSYC 1103 General Psychology, SOC 1103 Introduction to Sociology, or a World History course as part of your AAS.

Option 2


You completed American National Government or a US History course as part of your AAS.
