Graduation Map: Business Management, AAS (Accounting) for Transfer to UAFS Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS Emphasis - Management & Leadership)

National Park College (NPC) students who have completed an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Business Management (Accounting) degree may transfer into the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree program at the University of Arkansas at Ft. Smith (UAFS).  This BAS degree provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to either assume management and leadership roles in business and industry or to enhance current employment. The BAS degree is not specific to any NPC program area or concentration.

This semester-by-semester plan reflects the requirements to complete the Associate of Applied Science in Business with an emphasis in Accounting. Each student’s experience will vary slightly, as this plan does not include developmental courses or transfer courses. Math and English placement will be based on the student’s Accuplacer or ACT scores.

This plan assumes the student is prepared to take the courses listed. If prerequisites or developmental courses are required they should be taken in the first semester, and additional semesters may be required to complete this degree. However, courses should be scheduled in the sequential order as shown here.

NPC Business Division Graduation Requirement
A cumulative average of C (2.0) is required for graduation for all NPC programs. In addition, in order to graduate with any Business Division degree or certificate, all Business Division courses must be passed with a grade of “C” or better.

UAFS recognizes 49 of 60 NPC credit hours from this Associate of Applied Science degree.

UAFS will also accept 26 additional hours from courses listed below taken at NPC for a maximum of 75 transferable hours. These courses may also be taken at UAFS (campus or online, if available).

Option 1


You completed PSYC 1103 General Psychology, SOC 1103 Introduction to Sociology, or a World History course as part of your AAS.

Option 2


You completed American National Government or a US History course as part of your AAS.
