NUR 1208 - Nursing Process II 8 Credits The focus of Nursing Process II is on clinical decision making and the provision of patient centered care in selected medical/surgical settings with adult patients. Curricular concepts from previous courses continue to be built upon and a unit focusing on gerontological nursing is included in this course. Content and clinical experiences will emphasize patient centered care, the role of the nurse in the health care team, communication skills(collaborating with health care team, team building, verbal and non-verbal), and quality and safety. Clinical experiences are scheduled involving morning, afternoon, evening, or weekend hours in an acute care setting focusing on course concepts.
Prerequisite: NUR 1108 Nursing Process I , NUR 1001 Critical Thinking Applications I , BIOL 2234 Anatomy & Physiology II* , MATH 1123 College Algebra* , all passed with a grade of “C” or better
Corequisite: ENG 1113 English Composition I* , NUR 1201 Critical Thinking Applications II , NUR 1302 Current Concepts In Nursing ^
